I have been thinking lately about how it may be that traditional toys are being used less as videogames take over the mindshare of kids. Then I just saw the video of a real Transformer. This is how toys will rule again. No videogame is as cool as having one of these. At least not until they put Smell-O-Vision into games.
This Milk and Cookies site Wimbers pointed me to is even better than EBaum’s World. One of the best parts is that you can catch up on highlights from SNL, the Daily Show, and others. This is almost better than TiVo, cuz with that you’d still have to watch a whole episode of something to get the really good parts.
So instead of continuing to link to all the good stuff I find on there, I figured that I might as just point everyone to the site.
This is even better than that tile computer thing. Yeah, everything’s great until they find three psychic girls laying in a pool with spandex suits…then we’re all screwed.
But seriously, this has so many more applications than just an interface, I see a whole new area in art emerging from this. Man, where art meets technology things are always exciting. Clearly this person is not the one who is going to lead us to those new artistic highs…a 2D dancing cactus? Come on, at least have some ‘splosions and stuff. Michael Bay needs to be invited onto this project ASAP.
I am completely mesmerized by this, and I have to pee.
Harry Caray: Space, The Infinite Frontier, a classic.
Try this Falling Sand Game it is perfectly simple and completely entertaining. All game designers: basic = good. I know at least one of the big developers knows this…
I went and saw some of the robot battles over at UCF today. Let me tell
you…that comedy central show Battle Bots didn’t do this stuff
justice. Although the machines were much smaller, it was so much better
to see these things in person. It made me really tempted to go out to
Radio shack and buy an RC car to modify. If you ever get a chance to
see one yourself, I recommend it.

For the first time in my life I injected myself. Stabbed me with a
syringe fulla soemthin. All I can do is sit and stare at the pointed
instrument and try to comprehend how crazy this is. Take it from me:
it’s one thing to go to a doctor’s office for a shot, you are used to it
in that context. It is a whole other thing to use needles in your
home. Not to mention the patadigm shift of using them on yourself
rather than having a trained nurse do it.
It actually feels kinda cool. Maybe I’ll leave my used needles in
poorly hidden places throughout my apartment so people get…ideas about
me.

Having to dress yourself before someone eats you is a truly heart-breaking predicament. You can see it in the hot dog’s eyes. This is on the side of a vendor stand being sold at the Hollywood memoribilia store in Downtown Disney although I can’t think of any movie to which this could serve as an icon…
